Transformer preparation & recording guide
Build the record around the installed fluid-preservation, tap-changing and cooling arrangement. A conservator, nitrogen system, OLTC, fan or pump selects related record fields; it does not establish permission to inspect or test.
Startup evidence: Reference as-installed configuration, current drawings, original approved test reports, punch-list and separately authorized disposition.
Component context & relevant tool types
Fluid preservation
Identify actual compartments, conservator/bladder or nitrogen system from the drawing. Record fluid indications with load/temperature context; preserve original sampling and laboratory reports.
Tap changing
Identify the exact mechanism and separate fluid compartment where fitted. An operation-counter record is different from proof that contacts or interlocks meet an approved requirement.
Windings, bushings and connections
Keep test methods and source reports separate: winding resistance, insulation, ratio and bushing diagnostics measure different things. Reference the applied method/output and conditions from the approved report; this guide prescribes none.
Cooling
Identify fan/pump groups and control references. Record sensor location and operating context rather than assigning a universal normal temperature.
