Recording context & result meaning
Original recording guide · technical review pending
A record distinguishes observations, measurements, evidence and user judgements. This page supplies no normal ranges, acceptance limits, test settings, intervals or authorization to work.
Read the row meaning before marking OK
- Condition: your judgement under separately approved criteria. Identify that source; the site does not decide the result.
- Measurement record: required value, unit, method and context are complete. This is not a passing measurement.
- Evidence check: the specified reference is verified. This is not proof of equipment health.
- Task record: the specified recording task is complete.
Example: a leak was recorded — what does OK mean?
A completed leak-location record may be OK as an evidence check while the equipment has an unresolved leak. Record the observed condition in Remarks and reference the discrepancy/report. A condition row requires a separate user judgement under the applicable approved criteria. If evidence or criteria are unavailable, leave the result unclassified and select the corresponding pending reason. This example supplies no severity or release decision.
Unknown is different from not applicable
Leave results blank when not checked or when evidence/approved criteria are unavailable. Select a pending reason. Use N/A only for an inapplicable row and explain why; an installed but untested component is not automatically N/A.
What makes a measurement interpretable?
- Exact asset/model, point and configuration.
- Original report, method, connection and settings documented by the authorized provider.
- Quantity and unit; selecting a unit does not convert a value.
- Load/charging state, temperature, environment and relevant time/duration.
- Instrument/accessory identity, calibration reference and comparable baseline.
- Applicable source revision/locator and reviewer; criteria remain external.
Record what the approved method actually requires. Do not infer missing settings or average web values into a universal normal range.
Example without an acceptance value
Equipment: UPS-A, battery block B12. Record: voltage from the original approved report. Context: charging state, measurement point, report date, instrument/lead identity and applicable source. Enter the reported value and unit; leave a condition judgement unclassified when the applicable basis is unavailable. No numerical example is supplied.
Scope and deliverables
Initial installation, after-repair work, routine observations, outage maintenance and specified tests require distinct approved scopes. A website scope selection does not authorize work. Original files remain separate; this site does not upload attachments. Engineer/date/signature spaces remain for handwriting.
