Document instrument identity
Record the model, serial number, calibration reference, accessories, range, and selected function alongside the test result. This is our documentation framework, not a reproduction of a standard.
Verify suitability before use
OSHA 1910.334(c) addresses qualified personnel, inspection of test equipment and associated leads, and rating for the circuit and environment. Device selection must be checked against the actual task; a vendor category or purchase link cannot establish suitability.
Preserve the original result
Keep original test reports and record any conversions or corrections separately. A transcription should retain its source and reviewer so that another engineer can trace how the result entered the equipment record.
